AKTUELT: September 2010
Please find attached the WTC Job Service Placement Report for August 2010. We listed a massive 559 individual positions in August 2010 - this represents an increase of 90% in total jobs listed compared to the same month last year (297) and sets us up perfectly for the peak arrival season of the year which is now upon us!!
Here are some of the highlights of job placements over the last month:-
Luna Park x 63 roles / Sydney NSW - on top of the Christmas / New Year roles (100) mentioned in last months job stats, we have also listed an additional 63 roles for the upcoming school holidays in NSW (24/9/10 - 11/10/10). The jobs are a great introduction to Luna Park for people that might want to apply for the jobs later in year - and a great chance for our new arrivals to get working ASAP! The jobs are (i)
Ride Attendants x 30, (ii) Sideshow / Retail & Guest Relations x 20 and (iii) Food and Beverage and Stewards x 13 - and all roles pay $19.90 p/h and will be full time during this holiday period.
Hospitality x 55 roles, QLD / NT - through a new resort / hotel chain client, along with other existing clients we have listed a huge 55 roles in QLD and NT during August. These jobs are based in Cairns, Port Douglas, Darwin and the Whitsundays - and are to work in the F + B, Housekeeping, Laundry and Cleaning departments at the various properties. These roles really are a great way for our young customers to travel around Australia whilst earning great $$$ at the same time - and in most cases the property will include food and accommodation into the package!!
Fruit Picking / Harvest Work x 30 roles, QLD - once again we have listed many work opportunities in Fruit picking / packing roles, most recently in Bundaberg and Tropical North QLD in August. These
are great roles for young travellers (although hard work!) and often will allow them to work for 3 months to gain eligibility to apply for their second working holiday visa.
On top of these highlighted jobs, we have continued to make strong progress in the Sydney job market, securing many new clients and maintaining the existing relationships we have had for many years. This allows us to ensure that we have plenty of work for the many young travellers that arrive at this time of year - and 1 week into September, we are already managing to ensure that anyone who is looking for work to start their trip is being offered work! In fact - at the end of last week we actually ran out of potential workers to place due to the large number of jobs that were coming in - which is very rare for the end August and start of September.
All of this bodes very well for the busy season ahead - please ensure that you are spreading the word to your databases of prospective Work and Travel customers - there is plenty of work in Sydney and all around Australia!

August 2010
I just wanted to drop you a short line after a very busy few months down under preparing for our peak arrival season to let you know about 100's of jobs we have managed to secure for our valuable customers to ensure they are able to find work in Australia in the busy months ahead.
Luna Park - as already mentioned earlier in the month, Luna Park have once again approached us and asked for our assistance in finding up to 100+ lucky travelers to work for them during their peak, summer season over the Christmas school holidays!! This is a fabulous opportunity for our members to secure work in December 2010 and into January 2011 working at an iconic, Sydney Harbour theme park. Luna Park do not work with any other agencies or staffing agencies - so we are once again delighted to be involved in this process. Like last year, the interview process for these roles will be taking place during the early part of December and suitable candidates will then attend a series of group interviews to access their suitability. If selected and successful - they will then start work by the middle of December and be employed until the end of January. This is a fabulous role for any traveler looking to spend Christmas
and New Year in Sydney - and a great chance to secure work in what is traditionally a tough time of the year to find regular / ongoing work!!!
North QLD / NT Hospitality Work - we have managed to secure a contract with one of Australia and New Zealand's largest accommodation providers with a network of over 130 hotels, resorts and retreats.
Ranging from self-contained apartments to luxurious resorts and retreats, the properties are located in every Australian capital city, as well as major holiday destinations including the Great Ocean Road, Tasmania, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Tropical North Queensland. We are initially listing jobs for their QLD, Nth QLD and NT properties - so far this number totals 52 jobs on offer during August alone!
The roles on offer are a mixture of House Keeping, F + B Attendants and Kitchen Hands and we have already placed many WTC travelers into the roles! This client has the potential to allow us to offer these opportunities all over Australia as we develop the relationship further - which in turn gives our young customers the chance in some of the most beautiful holiday destinations Australia has to offer!!!
Melbourne Hospitality Work - we have (this week) managed to secure a partnership with a Melbourne based casual staffing agency to assist our customers in finding work between now and the end of 2010 during the busy hospitality season (Aug-Dec 2010). Including staff required to work at the world famous Melbourne Cup Racing Carnival, they are looking to hire 75+ casual staff members to work for them at various venues, functions, events and locations during the Australian summer months. There will be regular, ongoing work available for hospitality skilled travelers. looking to make Melbourne home for summer, and we very much hope to continue building this relationship into 2011 and beyond!!
On top of the new clients mentioned above, we have also been able to secure most of the contracts for casual staff that we fulfilled last year during the same busy, summer season - as well as maintaining our existing core jobs base built up over many, many years - meaning that there will once again be many more great job opportunities for WTC travelers than any others coming to Australia this summer!!!
We look forward to servicing your / our customers throughout this upcoming busy summer season ahead and encourage you to all spread the word to prospective customers thinking of coming to Australia - there is plenty of casual / short - medium term work here for travelers signing up on to the WTC Program!!
